Broking News

Review:

Over all the film is good but some sections of cinematography , creating visual distraction particularly in interview section , instead of using Selective focused shot ,there is segment cut from the whole frame.

To make a short film or documentary is a very tough task, because we have to put conflicts and situations within a short span of time. Mr. Umesh Aggarwal has done fabulous job in making of this documentary.  The story starts with interrogations of James and Rupert Murdoch, in famous telephone scandal of News of the World. The roots of paid news come from west, this phenomenon started when corporatization media took place.  After that story progresses with Indian paid news scandals, including paid news in print media, film industry, cricket and corporate world? The main focus of this film is to look behind the strategy of media institutions and its clients regarding Paid News. The film shows  how corporate are using paid news to build positive opinion for them, how journalists and politicians are being blackmailed, how  actors exercise  paid news for  promotion of films .The documentary contains interviews of top media personalities like, Vinod Mehta, Shevanti Nainan, Sucheta Dalal, Rajdep Sardesai and Mrinal Pande .  A walkthrough with a print reporter Rakesh Singh of Kurusherta , tells the grass root reality of paid news. This film left a question that in current scenario it seems that almost every editor is exercising power broking, So it is quite difficult for media to protect its accountability. Director Umesh Aggarwal, who is currently working with DAVP, comments: “Media is most unaccountable in this country”. The script is written by Bhanbhatt Acharya. “Broking news” is produced by public services broadcasting trust in collaboration with Doordarshan.

DISSOLVING OF MCI IS DISREGARD TO PARLIAMENT.

Political parties and people should strongly oppose the process of dissolving Medical Council of India by help of an ordinance. This is disregard to the parliament. The government is planning to dissolve educational autonomous institutions like AICTE ,MCI and others. On the basis of corruption charges on MCI President, govt. is dissolving  MCI. The controversy started when chairman of MCI Dr. Ketan Desai was arrested by CBI for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs. 2 crore to recognize a medical college in Punjab. Dr. Desai was arrested on 22th april . Govt. had sufficient time to put this issue in parliament for discussion . In fact govt. is unable to dissolve MCI in normal procedure. Health minister says on this probe that “the necessity of ordinance took place because there is lack of law to  dissolve MCI.”
On last Saturday president has recommended the ordinance for dissolving Medical Council of India. The current MCI board is dissolved and replaced by the panel six doctors. The panel is chaired by eminent gastroenterologist Dr. S.K Sarin. According to home ministry officials the committee will not have a advisory role but will actively run the MCI including issuing licenses and permissions , conducting inspections and regulating medical education for a maximum of  one year . The draft law for the formation of regulatory body would be formulated within a month. We all know that these autonomous institutions are established by passing an act in parliament. The step which is being taken by the govt. is violation of rights and powers of autonomous institutions.  This is pre planned strategy of govt. Formerly prof. Yashpal committee report on education suggested govt. to resolve AICTE,MCI and other institution and make a central regulatory authority and govt. is doing so far. The process of dissolving MCI in such a way is disregard to the parliament. Dissolving MCI is totally unconstitutional.
The resolving of such institution is step towards the privatization of education. Resolving these institutions will demolish the fundamental right to education. MCI is responsible authority towards medical education. It conducts many exams, including exam for foreign degree holder to practice in India to maintain medical standards. Only on the basis of corruption it should not be dissolved. There are many corruption charges against the MPs and MLAs. It does mean that the parliament or the legislative assembly should be dissolved.  There should be proper investigation by reliable authorities and strong punishment should be given to accused.
It seems that this is hidden agenda of government to promote foreign universities in India rather than to maintain to upgrade and open more medical institutions in India. Health is the primary need of citizens. After privatization of medical education , the price of medical treatment get sky rocketed. This will effect the common people and also this is violation of constitutional right of citizens, refer to social welfare as in the preamble of constitution of India. These policies  are under influence of both Indian and the foreign  capitalists . we know that there is no place of social welfare in the capitalism or in most common sense capitalist are not meant for social welfare.

Solution towards Naxalism.

The war against the naxalism is going on the gunpoint. The naxal attacks are meant to weaken the resolve of a country and challenge its capacity to remain a peaceful and Democratic Nation. India is facing diverse challenges in the management of its internal security. According to the documents seized by police , Maoists are planning to overthrow  the Indian state by 2050 by the armed liberation struggle. Maoists use to homework before launching any operation. They usually do survey in well trained army style to make their attack successful. After every attack they do a post mortem and analysis. Our home minister P. Chindambaram has declared the operation green hunt against the naxalites .The operation is going on since two weeks, but the troops could not get any big success by this operation. However on 23.03.2010 the naxalites led protest against this operation and they succeed to give message of their presence in different states. Before this operation congress government had done such type of operation when naxalism was in its childhood stage. In 1971 after the birth of naxalism in naxalbari of west Bengal,P.M Indira Gandhi had sent a troop of 40 thousand of Army and police to destroy naxalists in forest of west Bengal.  But after two months when the troops come out, the naxalite cader was established in five states. This was the failure of Govt. towards this direction. But govt. had not considered this as the failure of govt. there was no any report published by the government about this operation. This operation was headed by Gen. Manek Shaw. Now our home minister P.Chidambaram is looking for solution on the gun point with “Operation green hunt”. Without looking solution on the basis of talk he is using this type of step. Actually from 40 years the governments are exercising this practice. But in fact naxalism has expanded his legs to large area of country. Out of 626 districts of India near about 40% of the total districts declared as the naxal affected districts. In early 2009, Raman singh, chief minister of chattishgarh started a peace movement in naxal effected area of chattishgarh . The movement is named of “salaawa judum”, means campaign for peace. The concept of this campaign states that the tribals who are joining the salaawa judum camp, supposed to be supporter of govt., while the tribals who are not agree to leave their homes and join the camp are supposed as naxalites. . Accrding to constitution of India, article 19-E states that all citizens shall have right to reside and settle in  any part of the territory of India. This is not fair; the government is demolishing the fundamental rights of those tribals. This is as like as the divide and rule policy, by which the tribals are being separated in two distinct societies.
Why near about half of the total districts of India become Red Corridor.? What are the reason behind it.?  The birth of naxalism took place from a district of Bengal and now it has covered 92 thousand square kilometer land of country. Then obviously there are solid facts behind it. As you go through the report based on the report of the people’s tribunal on Nandigram “Nandigram, what really  happened ” released in august 2007, the basic reason was the decision of  Bengal Govt. to set up a chemical hub at Nandigram. This controversy started when the Govt. had decided that the Salim group of Indonesia would set up a chemical hub at Nandigram as part of proposed Petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals Investment region.(PCIPR) . Another example from Andhra Pradesh, in 2004 on the appeal of Chief Minister Y.S Rajshekhar Reddy, naxalite were come to talk with government but conversation stops with when the naxalite want to talk on two issues. Naxalites   produced the census of 30 acre land near the Hyderabad, earlier this land was proposed to be distributed in poor people by the government, that has been possessed by the industrial family and powerful leaders. Second was the encounter of 150 naxalites during the seize fire.  As you see in Jharkhand , there is possession of coal and mines  mafia throughout the state. And Our home minister says that whenever the naxalites do not take off their arms, there is no any possibility of talk with the government. If they will raise the question in counterpart that the government should free of corruption, then they will talk with the government. Then what will be the answer of government?
There is a question, why naxalism is inspired by the Marxism. Can Marxism gives solution towards this problem? There is an example of China, on one hand Mao gave a new structure and look to China across the world. He constructed China as a powerful opposition of communist Soviet Russia. He made China as superpower but on the other hand he took some decisions, which became harmful for his country. According to recent facts coming from China, at the days of “Great Leap Forward”, 50 million people were died. In Cultural Revolution of China near about 50 to 60 million people were died. In fact Marxism or communalism can not be the friend of naxalism. But by slight change in the theory of Marxism gives solution. In India there is strong example of solution towards this problem i.e. the socialism. It is made up of mixing the Marxism and Gandhism actually it is combination of left and right corridor under legacy of Dr. Rammanohar Lohia. Till alive, he was himself the strong opposition of unlawful govt. policies and acts. The birth of naxalism took place after his death, when there was lack of strong opposition in the country. The vision of Lohia about socialism in Indian context is very clear. For example in 1974 Jayprakash Narayan calls off the dacoits of chambal to surrender. On his call the dacoits of chambal capitulate themselves and joined the mainstream of the society. The case of Phulan devi is strongest example of change. The system should talk with them with justifying the constitutional rights of the common people.
Naxalism is a problem which can be solved only on the basis of mutual talk between the government and the naxalites. In fact naxalism is a voice against injustice. Naxalism and Terrorism are children of violence, but they are not brothers, in fact they are step-brothers. Terrorism challenges the constitution and tends to form a new state within that state, where as naxalism challenges the law and order, which are the reason of injustice of people’s right of the state. It is the movement by victims, discarded people to save their basic citizen rights. Have you ever thought that why certain states like west Bengal , M.P, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and north east states are victim of this phenomena. This arises due to irregular development of states. After 60 years of getting independence the powers are not decentralized to grass root level.  Despite the enactment and implementation of Panchayati raj act 1994, the PRI remain unempowered. In fact the government is the mother of this spoiled child. In 1996, the govt.  made a law for implementation of Panchayati Raj Institutions in scheduled areas, but it is not implemented intentionally till now. The decentralization of political power and some powerful reform in current system is the only solution towards the naxalism.

INDIAN MEDIA IN
THE GLOBALISING
WORLD

Today the growth rate of media industry is near about 30%. The Indian media is also growing with this rate. The growth rate of Indian media industry is near about 18-25%. However the regional languages of India empowered the local media but we cannot deny that the biggest economic media field in India is English media .In the reader’s survey of Indian news papers, Hindi and regional language media comes in the top ten of the news papers while English news paper is out from top ten list. First of all we have to see that why the English media is economically bold? Where from more and more money comes to this media? The English media has big promoters like big MNCs and the policy for encouraging the English language of European governments .All of us know that, the income of media industry comes from where? I.e. the income comes from:-
1. From distribution of newspapers, magazines etc.
2. From advertisement and tele-communications i.e. from SMSs, e-surveys etc.
Another income source of income is from ‘E-magazine’ and ‘Blogging’. According to viewers numbers companies gives advertisement to these E-magazine and bloggers. But this type of income is not popular in Indian media but it is popular in European media. But in coming days in Indian media field it seems that there should be a rating point for E-magazines and E-papers. According to T R P rating media houses have the advertisement. If you imagine that the T R P rating depends upon the number of viewers or readers then you are in dilemma. There is more confusion about T R P rating. So, let’s see what the T R P rating is?
In general sense T R P rating is only considered for electronic media exclusively for television. The full form of T R P is television rating point. In Indian media perspective T R P rating is being done by TAM media ltd. An other survey company AdeX India also gives survey on advertisements. For television shows rating it has implanted the rating machine in upper class area of metro cities. We know that the effect of advertisement firstly influences the citizen of metro cities. People who are living in metro cities have more salaries as compare to semi-urban or urban living people. If we compare the income of common man living in metro and town, then we see a far distinction between them. Clearly we can see that the TRP rating depends upon upper class of Indian society. There is another reason by which we can see that how advertisement effects the higher society? If APPLE launches an ipod who will be its first purchaser definitely an employee of MNC or the businessman of metro city not the people of small town or urban area.
This is about the TRP rating and the income of Indian media industry. Today the leading media groups of Indian media are:-
The Indian express group. Bennet and Colman group (the times of India group); Hindustan times group (Birla), Nai duniya
; The Hindu ;Channel 18 ; CNN ibn group; TV today network ; NDTV ; India TV ; India news ; voice of India ,zee network, B.A.G media Ltd etc .
There are also regional channels in Bangla, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, kannad and Oriya. For example Kiran TV, KTV, SUNTV ,DD BANGLA ,STAR ANANDO ,STAR MAZHA ,ZEE BANGLA,STAR ANANDO,ZEE GUJRATI, MAHUA ,HAMAR TV ETC. In current scenario the number of television channels in Indian media is near about 300 and gradually the number of channel is increasing day by day.
As the numbers of regional channels are increasing the advertisement of companies is being distributed in these channels. So, there is big competition in between the media channels for advertisement. That’s why, the channels are dependent on TRP rating.
The increase of media channel opened a global carrier in media field. That’s why the students are taking media studies as better carrier. Now days the technology has also empowered the media industry. Web journalism is a gift of modern technology, in which there is global opportunities for young media generation.

DEEPIKA’S UNCLE LAYS EGG
If you are thinking that Deepika padukone’s uncle lays egg then you are in dilemma or in reality it cannot be said or the header mean that the brother of Prakash padukone lays eggs. Eggs may be simple egg or may be golden egg or be some other egg, but the question is constant that can a man lay egg? It seems to be impossible, but in globalizing world everything is possible. So one can say that it is quite possible in this modern world. You have heard a story that a king has a hen which lays the golden egg. It was previous backward story and we are in fast forward world. So, we should imagine if a man lays egg then what would be inside it, definitely foreign currency like dollar or pound etc. There is an interesting story behind this sentence “DEEPIKA’S UNCLE LAYS EGG”.One day I with my two close friend walking around the Patel chest. One of us told that my uncle gave eggs to my mother. One of us quoted that do your uncle gives eggs or lays egg? This was an absolutely mistake of hazard brain of my friend, like being sentimental .Will you know about sentimental? Sentimental is a compound word of senti and mental. According to Ravish Kumar (anchor, NDTV) “in my college life at D.U, I have seen the boys, who became senti on a girl, after that become sentimental for whole night”. So, beyond that sentiment this will become a joke for us.
